Gameplay of Boreal Alyph, a fan game based on the synopsis of Half-Life 2: Episode 3, has appeared
The Boreal Alyph gameplay video has appeared on the Keep Away From Fire YouTube channel. The game is based on the so-called Epistle 3, an unused synopsis of Half-Life 2: Episode 3, written by former Valve writer Mark Laidlaw and posted online in 2017.
In the video, the main character (apparently, it is Gordon Freeman, but we still will not confirm) makes his way through the Alliance base in Antarctica, pursuing an unknown goal. In terms of gameplay, Boreal Alyph hardly differs from Half-Life 2 – all the key mechanics, puzzles using a gravity gun and recognizable on-site gunfights.
Keep Away From Fire is not only the name of the channel, but also the team that creates Boreal Alyph. It consists of 40 people – programmers, screenwriters, artists, game designers and level designers. Judging by what is shown in the video, the team is quite strong – the presented gameplay is not inferior to that of Half-Life 2 in terms of performance level.
